Get the life you want and deserve

September 30, 2016

I’ve asked myself several times, will I ever have a perfect life? The answer to that my friends is NO. The good news is I have figured out how to have the life that I want with implementing these four things. No matter what stage you are in your life you will continue to have problems, that’s part of the process. With these four tips you will have a much more fulfilled life.

  1. Community

We get so much more accomplished when we work together. I have no idea where I would be without my tribe. I have an amazing group of women that constantly uplift me and support me through everything I do. Find a positive community that will have your back no matter what. For me it’s my family, my friends, my church community, among many others. If people in your life are not contributing to your growth you do not have to keep them around. Another thing about community is your contribution to it. Are you contributing to your community? Life has much more purpose to it when your find your life’s purpose. For me, it’s social justice, child sexual abuse survivors, and uplifting youth & woman.  Giving back gives me life and I promise it will give you life too.

  1. Have Integrity

Being honest is key. Everything comes from your word. If you do not have your word, then what do you have? Have integrity in everything you do. Life and circumstances will get in the way but if you gave you word on something and cannot keep it, fix it. Do not try to make up excuses why you didn’t keep it. Simply acknowledge that you didn’t keep your word. Trust me; this will make a world of difference.

  1. Be Specific

When you ask God, the universe, or whoever you pray to for what you want, be specific! Have the courage to ask for what you know you deserve.  Many times we get so little because we ask for so little. Dream BIG and BIG things will begin to happen. I am living through this right now and I did for a split second believe that maybe I do not deserve what is coming my way. My tribe helped me get that out of my head real quick. I DO deserve everything that is coming to me and much more. And so do you my friends.

  1. Live Confidently

Anything is possible if you have the faith and believe. There will be times when what you asked for will not come your way. That does not mean to give up on your faith or stop asking for it. This just mean live like you know it can and will happen and if it doesn’t you still believe that what is for you will be yours.

Ariana and I first met at a women’s conference and from the beginning, I knew that she and I would become friends We eventually began to met up to share our stories. As we sat and talked over dinner, Ariana was in tears as I shared my daughter's story with her. She said that I was an amazing and strong mother for standing by my daughter after I found out her father had sexually abused her.
