It's always difficult for me to write my blog, I always overanalyze everything and never know how to start it but like always it eventually just comes to me. I am super excited this month, well I’m excited every month for my blog; however, this month, in particular, I have been focused on finalizing my curriculum for my purpose workshop and it so happens that is exactly what God put in my heart for this blog. Before I interviewed Alicia and relistened to the recording I thought I was going to focus on business, since this months feature is the co-owner of Juice Delight (a company that makes juices extracted directly from fruits/vegetables to keep nutrients) and talk about why your network is important. Although we do talk about it in her interview that you can listen to here, finding your purpose in life is the topic of this month.
Alicia is one of the hardest working women that I know. She is a hustler, a single mother, and business owner who is very much involved in her community. The first time we connected we met for lunch and I was immediately drawn to her authenticity. Funny enough Alicia states in this interview that "when you're authentic, people are more attracted to you." And I couldn't agree with her more, authenticity has been one of the things that has lead me to finding my purpose. Bob Marley said it best, "Being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure."
Many personal development workshops teach that when you find your why, that will be the defining moment in your life. Alicia knew her why, her son, who gives her the purpose when she's at her lowest and feeds off his good heart and innocent ways of living. Yet she still struggled to find fulfillment and many times didn't know what to do with herself. Everything she does now is for her son. But feels like how can she teach her son something she is not exemplifying.
In her search for her why Alica found something bigger, she found her purpose in life. In her words, "You can find your why but purpose is something you have to find within yourself." Finding my purpose has definitely been the defining moment in my life. The three biggest takeaways from her message that I got are to be transparent, feel what you feel, and lead by example. Purpose is the fulfillment she was in search of, surrendering to God was key. God always keeps his promise to us. As Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
Make sure to listen to full interview to learn how to cut off all other options, keep going and how to deal with stress.
